New AI technique improves depth estimation from single camera images

Researchers proposed Depth-converted-Scale Convolution (DcSConv), a new method that handles how object sizes change with depth in monocular video to improve self-supervised depth estimation. The technique achieved 11.6% performance improvement on the KITTI benchmark and works as a plug-and-play module for existing AI models.
